The Department of Communications and Computer Engineering at the
Higher Institute of Engineering – El Shorouk Academy organized an educational
field visit to the Cairo International Exhibition for Information and
Communication Technology (Cairo ICT 2025) – 29th Edition, on Tuesday, 18
November 2025, at the Egypt International Exhibitions Center in Cairo.
The visit came as part of the department’s commitment to enhancing
students’ applied learning, linking academic courses with practical industry
practices, and exposing them to the latest global technologies in communications,
networking, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and information technology
infrastructure.
A number of faculty members and teaching assistants supervised the
visit, including:
Dr. Mohamed Abdelhamed, Dr. Reem Nehad, Eng. Mennattallah Sami, Eng. Hagar Atef,
Eng. Sohila Hafez, Eng. Ahmed Sayed, and Eng. Aya Ashraf, with the
participation of 150 students from the Electronics and Communications
Engineering Program and the Computer and Control Engineering Program.
The visit program included an extensive tour inside the exhibition
halls, where students were introduced to the latest products and technological
solutions presented by local and international companies in networking,
telecommunications, cybersecurity, fiber optics, smart systems, and digital
solutions for various sectors. Students also had the opportunity to engage in
discussions with company representatives and learn about training opportunities
and potential career paths.
Students and faculty members also attended two technical sessions
within the conference program accompanying the exhibition, titled:
"Threat Intelligence for Protection in Destructive Attacks"
"AI vs AI: Harnessing Artificial Intelligence to Hunt, Predict, and
Neutralize AI-Driven Threats"
The sessions featured leading experts and specialists from major
global companies in the field of cybersecurity.
The students demonstrated great interest and engagement throughout
the visit, which contributed significantly to broadening their understanding of
emerging technological trends, reinforcing the connection between theoretical
study and practical applications, and enhancing their awareness of labor market
requirements and the technical skills needed in their fields.
The Department of Communications and Computer Engineering affirms
that continuing to organize such field visits represents an important step
toward supporting the educational process, improving students’ competencies,
and preparing them to keep pace with the rapid advancements in the information
and communications technology sector.
