Communications and Computer Engineering Students in a Hands-On Experience Inside Telecom Egypt’s Data Center

As part of the Department of Communications and Computer Engineering’s commitment at the Higher Institute of Engineering, El Shorouk Academy, to linking academic study with practical applications and enhancing students’ readiness for the labor market, the department organized a field visit for its students to the data center of Telecom Egypt, located in Smart Village.

The visit took place on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, offering students a valuable opportunity to closely explore the professional environment within data centers and gain insight into their core components and operational mechanisms.

The visit activities included:

• A detailed explanation of data center components, including server systems, networking infrastructure, and storage solutions.
• An overview of data center management and operational practices, along with key technical standards.
• A review of essential operational considerations, such as security, cooling systems, service continuity, and fault management.
