The Department of Communications and Computer Engineering at the
Higher Institute of Engineering, El Shorouk Academy, organized the Graduation
Project Defense Sessions for the Academic Year 2025/2026 on Monday, June 22,
2026, and Tuesday, June 23, 2026. The event reflects the department's ongoing
commitment to fostering innovation and creativity while aligning students'
projects with emerging technologies, societal needs, and the evolving demands
of the labor market.
During the two-day event, 26 graduation projects were presented and
evaluated, covering a wide range of contemporary research and engineering
topics, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Communication Networks,
Cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), Embedded Systems, Cloud Computing,
Wireless Communications, Smart Healthcare Applications, Autonomous Vehicles,
Wearable Systems, and Sixth-Generation (6G) Networks.
The projects showcased numerous innovative technological solutions
and practical applications, including an integrated airport security and
communication network protection system, an intelligent underwater
communication and security system, wearable-based solutions for health
monitoring, real-time location tracking, and emergency alerting, as well as a
smart wearable antenna for healthcare applications. Other projects employed AI
techniques for early plant disease detection, thermal image analysis, and remote
monitoring of elderly individuals.
Additional projects included the design and implementation of an
intelligent rescue drone, a real-time underwater threat detection system for
enhancing maritime safety, an AI-enabled intelligent reflecting surface
(IRS)-based solution for 6G networks, the design and simulation of an
FPGA-based processor, and smart wearable devices for monitoring movement
disorders, predicting epileptic seizures, tracking athletes' health, and
preventing sports injuries.
The defense sessions were evaluated by a distinguished panel of
external examiners representing leading universities, research institutions,
and industrial organizations. The participating institutions included Ain Shams
University, Cairo University, Menoufia University, Benha University, Al-Azhar
University, the National Telecommunication Institute (NTI), the National
Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), and the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA).
A total of 15 external reviewers, recognized for their academic and
professional expertise, participated in the evaluation process. Their
involvement provided students with a valuable opportunity to present their
work, discuss the scientific, engineering, and implementation aspects of their
projects, and receive constructive feedback and recommendations from
experienced specialists.
The external reviewers highly commended the scientific quality and
practical relevance of the projects, praising the students' ability to apply
the knowledge and skills they had acquired throughout their studies to develop
innovative solutions for real-world challenges. They also highlighted the
diversity of the project topics and their strong alignment with current and
emerging trends in communications engineering, computer engineering, and
artificial intelligence.
The Department of Communications and Computer Engineering reaffirmed that graduation projects constitute one of the fundamental pillars in preparing highly qualified engineers equipped with innovation, teamwork, analytical thinking, and engineering design skills. The department also expressed its sincere appreciation to the external reviewers, faculty supervisors, teaching assistants, and all organizers who contributed to the success of the defense sessions, and extended its best wishes to the graduating students for continued success in their academic and professional careers.
