Students from the Department of
Communications and Computer Engineering continue to make a strong impact in
engineering competitions. The department proudly congratulates the graduation
project team behind the “AI-Powered Autonomous Rescue Hexacopter” on winning
fifth place at IC-ESI 2026, among more than 250 teams from universities and
schools across Egypt.
The project develops an
intelligent autonomous rescue aircraft designed for real-time monitoring and
rapid response in challenging environments. Its integrated platform combines
IoT connectivity, real-time image analysis, computer vision, embedded systems,
and autonomous navigation to support fast and accurate field operations.
The system is designed to reduce
search time, improve victim-detection accuracy, deliver essential supplies, and
provide better situational awareness in inaccessible terrain. Its potential
applications include disaster response and rescue, medical-supply delivery,
infrastructure inspection, and security monitoring.
