The tasks of the Crisis and Disaster Management Committee can be divided into three stages as follows:
The first stage: is pre-crisis or disaster, in which
Planning for crises and disasters that may occur in the short or long term
Preparing plans and drawing scenarios to prevent crises and confront disasters.
Taking preventive measures to prevent the occurrence of a crisis or disaster.
Preparing to deal with events such as training individuals and maintaining equipment.
Spreading cultural awareness of disaster and crisis management, and holding training workshops to raise the level of efficiency of workers and faculty members in this field.
Developing monitoring and early warning mechanisms in the field of crisis and disaster management whenever possible.
Confrontation, response, and containment stage:
Implementing plans and scenarios that were previously prepared and trained on
Implementing confrontation and relief work of all kinds according to the type of crisis or disaster.
Carrying out urgent emergency services and implementing evacuation operations when necessary.
Following up on the event and monitoring developments of the situation on an ongoing basis, evaluating it, and determining the procedures required to deal with it.
Balance stage:
Listing losses of individuals and facilities.
Rehabilitation and reconstruction (activity resumption phase) and protection from potential future risks.
Evaluating the measures taken to deal with the disaster during the confrontation, response and containment phase and extracting lessons learned.
Documenting the event providing the necessary recommendations and proposals, and directing them to the concerned authorities to benefit from them in order to avoid negatives in the future (if any), and developing and updating plans according to developments for better management.
