The origin of the department

The Electrical Power and Machines Department is one of the first scientific departments established at the Higher Institute of Engineering in Elshorouk, since the institute's establishment in 1995. It was also the first department established in all private educational institutions, due to the increasing demand for graduates of this specialization in the market, both inside and outside Egypt, especially in all Arab countries. The department aims to elevate the engineering educational process to keep pace with the times in this field, as well as to provide a distinguished graduate level compared to graduates of similar engineering educational institutions. This is achieved through providing a distinguished study program for students that meets the requirements and needs of the market. The department has modern and advanced laboratories that meet the requirements of the courses that require practical application alongside theoretical aspects.

Dear students of the Electrical Power and Machines Department - Higher Institute of Engineering in Al-Shorouk. I would like to tell you about the Electrical Power and Machines Department as one of the first scientific departments established at the Higher Institute of Engineering in Al-Shorouk, since the institute's establishment in 1995. It was also the first Electrical Power and Machines Department established among all private educational institutions due to the increasing demand for graduates of this specialization in the market, both within Egypt and abroad, especially in Arab countries. The department aims to elevate the engineering educational process to keep pace in this field at the current time. It also aims to provide a distinguished graduate level compared to graduates of similar engineering educational institutions. This is achieved through a distinguished curriculum for the department's students that meets the requirements and needs of the market. The department has modern, advanced laboratories that meet the requirements of the courses that need practical application alongside the theoretical aspect. The department is featured by a distinguished group of faculty members and assistant staff with outstanding educational experience in this field, which leads to the advancement of the educational process in the department. The department has achieved first place in the field of graduation projects at the bachelor's level among all public and private universities for three consecutive years: 2014, 2015, and 2016. In addition, the department won first place nationwide in the field of self-directed engineering education for the project "Applications of New and Renewable Energy." Finally, the department's mission is to elevate and advance the educational process and continue its achievements to achieve further progress and prosperity toward a better future for the graduates of this department, meeting the needs and requirements of the market.

Program Aims:
1- Continuing to develop the capabilities of staff members in a way that contributes to providing a graduate who achieves the objectives of the Electrical Power and Machined Engineering Program.
2- Supporting applied research for community service and environmental development.
3- Develop effective partnership with labor organizations and research institutions locally and globally.
4- Continuous development of the program content (study courses).
5- Commitment to professional ethics and university values and activating the rules of accountability and accountability.
