The origin of the department
The Department of Engineering Mathematics and Physics was established when the Higher Institute of Engineering was established in 1995. Basic science courses such as mathematics, physics, and mechanics were combined into one department called the Department of Basic Sciences. Basic science courses such as mathematics and physics are the foundation upon which advanced engineering sciences are built.

Good education is considered a fundamental measure of the progress and advancement of nations in this era. Therefore, we always strive for continuous updating and development through educational and research programs, considering ourselves an integral part of the learning system in Egypt. There is no doubt that modern education is the foundation of development and progress, which can elevate other fields such as health, agriculture, and industry to advance the national economy in light of the new local and global changes/challenges and variables. As we keep all of this in mind and strive to achieve the vision and mission of the department to the fullest, we pray to God Almighty to grant our students success for the elevation and advancement of our nation.

Qualifying students for the institute’s educational programs with advanced courses in basic and humanities sciences.
Working to achieve the vision and mission of the institute. Meeting the needs of various engineering programs. Delivering teaching tips in the fields of basic and humanities sciences for students. Motivating faculty members and their assistants to conduct scientific research in the fields of basic sciences.
