Introduction to the Information Systems Center:
The Information Systems Center is one of the administrative units within the Shorouk Academy system, and it is the technical center specialized in all activities related to the use of computers and their accessories from educational tools, whether in the lecture halls or scientific laboratories, or those devices operating in the various departments of the institute; in addition to designing, supporting and developing automated systems and software in all departments, scientific departments and examination offices, and the e-learning unit.
The organizational structure of the Information Systems Center:
The center is affiliated with Major General Dr. Chairman of the Board of Directors, and the centers organizational structure is headed by the centers director, who is entrusted with implementing the directives and assignments issued by the Chairman of the Board of Directors and the deans. He is also entrusted with planning, supervising the implementation and follow-up of all the centers activities from a practical point of view. The center is divided into several sub-sections, each of which has specific tasks that it performs, and these sections are: -
- Computer Labs Section
- Networks Section
- Maintenance and Technical Support Section
- Software Development and E-Learning Section
Summary of duties
- Developing the information systems infrastructure in line with developments.
- Providing technical support and maintenance services to all scientific and administrative departments.
- Increase the efficiency of the internal information network and develop it.
- Developing operating systems, regulating the use of software (licensed programs), and protecting devices from viruses.
- Providing the necessary environment for Internet services for all users (capacity, speed, servers, etc.).
- Follow up on the needs of departments, laboratories and administrations for devices and equipment (within the framework of evaluating needs and specifications).
- Developing software used and applications for internal beneficiaries.
- Developing website services.
- Developing e-learning services and providing the necessary technical support to faculty members, their assistants and students.
- Follow up on the operation and updating of internal surveillance systems (surveillance cameras and periodic maintenance contracts).
