As part of the collaborative effort between the Community Service and Environmental Development Unit at the Higher Institute of Engineering - Akhbar El-Shorouk Academy and the South Sinai Governorate, a request was made by the Governor of South Sinai to the Higher Institute of Engineering in Shorouk. Dr. Ahmed Hamdy Fouad, a lecturer in the Department of Architecture, was assigned to redesign and rehabilitate the Mid-Hill Chalets and its urban spaces and landscape in Sharm El-Sheikh.
This project aimed to support the rehabilitation and development of Sharm El-Sheikh as Egypt's premier tourist destination, ensuring it meets sustainability standards and quality of life criteria for visitors and residents. The goal was to enhance its image and make it a distinctive destination.

The redesign and rehabilitation efforts were completed in preparation for promoting the city, especially for the COP 27 Climate Conference. Lt. Gen.
