One of the most important achievements of the Department of Chemical Engineering is providing a scholarship to the student Rahma Hassan at AstraZeneca, a pharmaceutical company, following her successful interview.
The Department of Chemical Engineering contacted AstraZeneca to provide a scholarship for one of the department’s students. Indeed, a number of students from the Department of Chemical Engineering were selected. After conducting tests and a personal interview with the students, the student Rahma Hassan Muhammad, a third-year student in the Department of Chemical Engineering, was selected.
Rahma Hassan Mohamed, a student from the Chemical Engineering Department at Al-Shorouk Academy, successfully completed her summer training at AstraZeneca’s Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) department under the internal supervision of the department and the follow-up of Dr. Haia Mohamed, Training Officer in the Chemical Engineering Department at the Higher Institute of Engineering.. During her time there, she gained valuable scientific and practical experience, working on critical tasks such as reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), creating safety videos, and developing checklists for safety equipment.
One of the key advantages of training in the SHE department was the opportunity to collaborate with various other departments, including Processing, Warehouse, Quality Control Lab, and Engineering. This cross-departmental exposure helped her build a well-rounded understanding of safety protocols and their applications across the company.
